Jake Schepps makes some lovely music…on banjo! Believe me, this is lovely listening, and this weekend, the whole digital album is free to download. Just enter $0.00 as your price at the checkout. Happy Birthday, Bela!
I was in a band, Blue Grass Orphans, for about 5 years. This is where I learned to play bass, where I learned all about bluegrass music, and where I made lifelong friends with Ed and Amber-Lynn Yourk (father/daughter).
The band broke up last year, and rather than mope about it, I’d like to celebrate the journey by giving away a copy of our only full-length CD.
To win, you must follow me on Twitter (@cowpunkmom), tweet about the contest with a link to this page, and leave me a comment here telling me you did so. Next Sunday, a winner!
I’m working on getting this set of arpeggios by Tim O’Brien “locked and loaded” onto my mandolin. It’s not as fun as learning a song, but I can feel in my fingers that it will be very beneficial.
You can hear the excitement as Braden prepares to leave on a journey of discovery and adventure in this sweet little song.
This is my friend’s blog, and it’s her birthday, and she’s giving away a few things in celebration. Check it out!
Markus Rill mashes up Gillian Welch and The Cure, and it sounds great!
P.S. You can download it!
This is the ride @Spoke63 and I are going to do today! Sunny autumn mountain glory!
I’ve been wondering if I should start a blog. I think the world is over-logged with blogs…but I sometimes want to write stuff down somewhere other than my journal. Stuff that might be a conversation, or an encouragement, or a challenge.
So here I am. I’m not making any promises.
Incidentally, as a literary exercise I wrote a blog a few years ago, all about memories from my past. I rarely post there anymore, but I don’t think it’s done. If you want something to read, it’s here. http://cowpunkmom.blogspot.com/
